Propertizer
is a software program designed to help users divide marital assets and
debts. It also calculates the marital portions of certain real property
in your client's cases. As you enter property, fair market values, and
encumbrances, Propertizer calculates each item's equity. With a single
keystroke or mouse–click the program assigns each item to one party, or
divides it equally between both parties. You can also assign any
portion of an item's value to either party. Propertizer™ displays
constant recalculations as you formulate proposals.
When you enter Combined Marginal Brackets (CMB) and each item's tax
basis, Propertizer displays the after–tax result for each party. Note:
property division may affect tax brackets, which you must determine and
adjust for appropriately.
Propertizer allows you to:
- Temporarily or permanently delete items from consideration, or insert items into the list.
- Minimize the equalizing payment by considering each item separately for redistribution to the other party.
