This release updates 2007 through 2009
actual and estimated Federal and State taxes, in addition to various bug fixes,
as outlined below. A detailed description of the enhancements and patches
included with this update is also available by viewing the Readme file, accessible from the programs’ Help Menus.
Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT)
In an effort to more closely approximate taxes in years 2008
and 2009, DissoMaster uses patched AMT exemption levels.
NOTE: Congress has not yet implemented an AMT patch
for 2008 or 2009. If Congress does not act, then the AMT exemption
levels will revert to the significantly lower 2001 levels, which will often
result in decreased support orders. Based on historical legislative action and
the advice of our accountants, it is our considered judgment that Congress will
implement an AMT patch this year, as it has done in years past, and as such we
have set the exemption levels accordingly. The Judicial Council is aware of
this decision and concurs with it, as have other commercial support
applications, including NFLS SupporTax, who are also patching accordingly.
Default Date of Birth for Children We have set the default date of birth for kids added in the
Child Manager dialog to nine years prior to the tax year used; this will make
the oldest child 9 years old by default.
NOTE: If you are using a default case that was
created by a previous version of DissoMaster, the program will preserve the
earlier-set birthdates, so new kids added may have default ages of greater than
9.
Windows Vista™
DissoMaster works on Vista! However, as a result of a change
in the behavior of the ALLUSERS property on Vista, which is beyond our control,
we can no longer support the “install for current user only” installation.
